Mission Statement
Providing returning Veterans/active Military and their immediate families with home furnishings, and unite them with a rescued animal.
At Patriots and Paws we fill a gap where there is need. Our Veterans/active Military can get help with housing in the forms of special loans and a special type of HUD housing, but with a roof over there head, many don’t have basic things like dishes, sheets, a couch, end table, etc.
That is where we will fill the gap.
We help our Veterans/active Military and their immediate families with furniture and small necessities needed.
The animals will help provide companionship therapy for the Veterans and their families against post-traumatic stress.
Our future plans include a kennel for the animals we rescue.
We will also provide returning Active Military and their immediate families with information and resources they can use to become successful in returning home and re-start their lives back in the civilian world.

I AM ACTIVE MILITARY/VETERAN, HOW CAN PATRIOTS AND PAWS HELP ME?
At Patriots and Paws we provide items you might need for your home. It could be a couch, a dining room table or even a soup ladle. You contact us via email, and give us your “Wish List”, depending on what has been donated to us; we fill your “Wish List”.
You receive it for “FREE”, no strings attached, you have earned it by providing us our Freedom.
AS A VETERAN/ACTIVE MILITARY/RESERVISTS WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?
When you are scheduled for your appointment, you will show us a copy of your VA Card/DD214 Current Id/Active Military Id.
WHERE DOES THE PAWS PART OF PATRIOTS AND PAWS COME IN?
When we have Veterans/Active Military/Reservists who have an interest in an animal, we refer them to our community partners, see our Paws Program page for more information.
HOW CAN I HELP PATRIOTS AND PAWS?
We can use your time, talents and treasures.
We are always looking for volunteers.
Your donation of gently used home furnishings.
You can become a monthly donor, or even a one time donor. Does your company do donor matching dollars? Are you a Federal Employee and apart of CFC, or a State Employee you can choose us as your charity.
Our focus is home furnishings, which doesn’t have a limitation. Imagine coming home from a deployment and you need to set up your home. What if you have been homeless and just found housing? You need everything, therefore we need everything.

SO IF WE DONATE TO PATRIOTS AND PAWS CAN WE GET A TAX DONATION THAT THE IRS WILL RECOGNIZE?
Yes, we are a 501(c) (3) recognized by the IRS. Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
We are qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of this code.
We are a public charity.
HOW MUCH OF YOUR NON-PROFIT GOES TO THE VETERANS/ACTIVE MILITARY/RESERVISTS?
When donations of home furnishings are donated, the amount that goes to the Veterans/Active Military/Reservists, depends on how much is on their wish list. Our goal is to help them. We have operational expenses and as we grow we will have more.
At this time the rent on our warehouse is our biggest expense.
Our next biggest expense is our truck to pick up donations.
We have 1 full time employee and 5 part time employees, the board and everyone else apart of Patriots and Paws is volunteers. The needs of the Veterans/Active Military/Reservists will always come first.
